Video Editor Team Lead

This newly created role will manage a large post-production team of Video Editors that is set to grow substantially as part of the Social Video Team in the next year.

With more than 30 Video Editors, including Junior and Senior levels, this person must be excited by managing and developing others as well as producing social content that hits industry-leading targets every week.

They’ll be responsible for taking video to the next level, by continually improving the quality of content published across 9 brands on Facebook, IGTV and Snap.

 What will you be doing? 

  • Managing a team of video editors working on editorial social content.
  • Setting KPIs for team members to develop and learn.
  • Conducting probations, career development plans and disciplinaries.
  • Recruiting video editors with experience across social platforms.
  • Data analysis to improve edit structure and graphics packages.
  • Ensuring the team is hitting output and other targets.
  • Improving quality of storytelling.
  • Making decisions on legal matters relating to video.
  • Editing to a high standard yourself when necessary.

    What do you need to have done before?

    • Experience editing for social media ideally with Facebook as a focus.
    • Interviewed staff for senior roles.
    • A background working within social media or other publishing company would be ideal.
    • Demonstrated understanding of media law.

    Must haves?

    • Previous management experience of a large team of video editors.
    • Relevant university degree, equivalent qualification or experience working in social media, post-production or other relevant multimedia field.
    • Sound knowledge of Premiere Pro and After Effects.
    • In-depth understanding of social media, particularly Facebook.
    • Some experience of camerawork is desirable - however, this is largely a desk-based role.
    • Knowledge of media law, including copyright and consent, and ethical consideration

      All interviews are being conducted via Zoom until further notice however the role will be based in the London/Manchester office 2 days per week.
