Finance Assistant
Founded in 2012, LADbible Group is redefining entertainment and news for a social generation. Our global community engages with our content–spanning editorial, video, documentary and live – we reach 1 billion people each and every month. Our mission is to give the youth generation a voice by building communities that laugh, think and act. Using all major platforms, we’ve rapidly risen to become one of the world's largest publishers.
Our Finance Team plays an important role in keeping LBG Media running smoothly. Based in our Manchester office, the team supports colleagues across the business, manages relationships with customers and suppliers, maintains strong financial controls and helps ensure we have accurate, reliable financial information.
We are looking for a Finance Assistant to join our friendly and collaborative team. This is a varied role offering exposure to both accounts payable and accounts receivable, as well as opportunities to support the wider Finance Team during month-end.
What does a day in the team look like?
Working closely with the other Finance Assistants and the wider Finance Team, you will be responsible for...
· Processing supplier invoices through our purchase-to-pay system
· Matching invoices to purchase orders and preparing them for payment
· Raising purchase orders when required
· Setting up new suppliers within our finance system
· Checking and independently verifying supplier details
· Processing employee expenses and company card transactions
· Monitoring the accounts payable and accounts receivable inboxes
· Responding to queries from suppliers, customers and colleagues across the business
· Reconciling supplier statements and investigating any differences
· Supporting the accounts receivable process, including raising invoices, issuing customer statements, allocating cash and assisting with credit control
· Supporting month-end activities, including bank and credit card reconciliations and debtor health reviews
· Helping the team identify opportunities to improve and streamline our processes
· Providing additional support to the wider Finance Team when required
What kind of candidate are we looking for?
You do not need to know everything from day one. We are looking for someone with the right attitude who is keen to learn and build a career in finance.
· A genuine interest in finance and a desire to develop your skills
· Previous experience in a finance or administrative role, although this is desirable rather than essential
· Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
· Good organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
· A proactive and motivated approach to your work
· Confidence communicating with colleagues, customers and suppliers
· A willingness to ask questions, listen and learn
· An understanding that finance is about more than processing transactions—accuracy, controls, cash flow and strong relationships all matter
· The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
If you are enthusiastic, organised and ready to build your finance career within a fast-paced and growing business, we would love to hear from you.
